Dabarkads share memorable stories from “Eat Bulaga” trips abroad

Eat Bulaga” Dabarkads cannot help but feel nostalgic when GMA Pinoy TV’s Quick Chat asked them to share their fondest out-of-the-country travels.

Pauleen Luna said that their trip to Israel is her most remarkable trip with Eat Bulaga because it was her first time to visit the Holy Land.

Sa amin, bonding [ng] magda-Dabarkads and of course, spiritually. It’s a very nice gift for all of us,” said Pauleen.

Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards agreed with Pauleen that Israel is indeed a beautiful place. But he also said that their shows abroad had created a big impact not just to their fans, but also among themselves because they created a distinctive bond with Pinoys abroad.

“Every trip is memorable and it’s for the books! Ang na-appreciate ko lang talaga kasi is what you see on screen, is just 10 percent or the tip of the ice berg kung ano talaga ‘yung kakulitan na meron ‘yung mga Dabarkads and lumalabas po ‘yun whenever we have trips abroad,” Alden quipped.

For Allan K., their 2019 Dubai trip surely left a mark because of the thoughtfulness of the Filipino community there.

Jimmy Santos recalled an unforgettable skit with Tito, Vic, and Joey.  With his hilarious role, he not only gave comfort and entertainment to Filipinos but also to foreigners who watched the show.

“Kumanta sila ng bahay kubo. Every time na hindi ma-translate ni Bossing Vic, call a friend. Ako ‘yun, si Doctor Santos. Maski papa’no nakapagbigay tayo ng aliw sa mga kababayan doon lalo mga asawa ng mga Pilipina doon na mga Amerikano, naintindihan ‘yung sinasabi ko by means of my own definition of English,” Jimmy jokingly said.

For Ryan Agoncillo, he cannot forget the trip where his then-girlfriend and now wife, Judy Ann Santos joined.

It was a chance really, preview for me. Nag-stick talaga sa mind ko na [TVJ is not] fawning it in, they’re really putting everything on the line. Every show, they want to give their audience the best every time they’re viewed.”

Meanwhile, Jose Manalo and Wally Bayola both said that every time they do a show outside the country, they make sure that our “kababayan” will definitely feel the positive vibes and unique connection Eat Bulaga has been establishing and doing for the past 43 years.

Everything was slowly going back to normal in some parts of the world but unfortunately, the COVID-19 cases rose again in 2022 because of the Omicron variant. What advice can Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon tell Pinoys abroad who were affected by the sudden surge in COVID cases?

Stay safe, stay with God. Sa buong mundo ‘yan, sa buong kababayan natin. Dasal. ‘Yun lang ang kailangan natin. Stay safe, stay with God,” Joey added.

“Eat Bulaga” has been #StrongerTogether with GMA Network for the past 27 years. Now more than ever, the Dabarkads remind us that laughter remains one of the best medicines in the challenges of life.
