DongYan is back, Eleksyon 2022 coverage, and more new shows on GMA Pinoy TV this May!

This May, GMA Pinoy TV urges Filipinos across the globe to exercise their right to vote and be entertained with its new line-up of shows and movies!

Kapuso Primetime King and Queen Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera are set to make their much-awaited TV comeback with “Jose & Maria’s Bonggang Villa.” Starting May 15, the Kapuso abroad will finally get to watch the Kapuso royal couple in this weekly sitcom about the most hospitable couple of a garden bed and breakfast business. 

 

As Filipinos come together to vote for their next leaders, GMA Pinoy TV airs the live coverage and up-to-the-minute news from different parts of the world through  “#StrongerTogether Election 2022 Special Coverage” on May 9 and 10. This special coverage for Pinoys abroad is powered by the Philippines’ most credible, most trusted, and multi-awarded news organization, GMA News and Public Affairs.

Leading the coverage are the country’s most trusted broadcast journalists: GMA News pillars Jessica Soho, Mel Tiangco, Vicky Morales, Arnold Clavio, Howie Severino, and Mike Enriquez. 

This Mother’s Month, sharing good vibes is the romance-comedy “False Positive” bannered by Xian Lim and Glaiza de Castro. The series showcases a neglected wife who wishes in front of a magical fountain for her husband to be pregnant.  

Also airing this May is “Apoy sa Langit,” a compelling series that showcases an unusual story of betrayal and family affairs. The drama is headlined by Maricel Laxa, who continues to return to the small screen coming from her stellar performance in Mano Po Legacy. She is also joined by Zoren Legaspi, Mikee Quintos, with showbiz newcomer Leanne Valentin who is set to play a challenging role.

Kapuso actress Kylie Padilla is making her TV comeback with the original series “Bolera” premiering on May 30. She breathes life to a billiards prodigy who aims to prove herself worthy of the male-dominated sport and her struggles along the way. Joining her are Rayver Cruz and Jak Roberto. 

On GMA Pinoy Blockbuster, opening the Mother’s Month is “Burgos”. The film, starring Lorna Tolentino, is about a simple mother and a devout Catholic who has become a human rights defender and how her personal battle led her to take on the battles of others like her.

“Mumbai Love” (May 8) is a cross-cultural romantic comedy featuring talented Kapuso actress Solenn Heussaff which tells the story of how two cultures can come together as one.

“In The Name of The Mother” (May 15) is about a mother of three kids, played by Snooky Serna, who was abused and abandoned by her husband but learns how to move on as a grade school teacher who puts up her own business and succeeds as an empowered woman.

“Mindanao” (May 22), top-billed by Judy Ann Santos, is the story of a Muslim woman taking care of her cancer-stricken daughter in a temporary home while her husband, a combat medic, is on an operation in Maguindanao.

And lastly, catch the movie “Mommy Issues” (May 29), led by Kapuso comedian Pokwang, about a rocky relationship between a high-strung woman and her demanding mother, which was further troubled by close quarters and new romances.
