Johnny Depp’s Team Finally Responds About His Rumoured $300 Million Pirates Of The Caribbean Return

A report claiming that Johnny Depp is set to return to Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean franchise (from which he was axed in 2018 after Heard first accused him of abuse) has been making rounds all over social media and various news sites lately prompting Johnny Depp’s camp to finally put a stop to the rumours. Depp played the lead character, Captain Jack Sparrow, in five of the six Pirates movies before Disney decided to take him out of the franchise right before the final installment in the midst of Heard’s claims. Depp played Captain Jack Sparrow in all five movies, the latest one being the 2017 film Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. This incident reportedly caused Depp to lose $22.5 million.

A report surfaced 2 days ago by Poptopic claiming that Johnny Depp was negotiating a $301 million deal to return to the Pirates of the Caribbean movie franchise.

“Disney is very interested in patching up their relationship with Johnny Depp,” a reported source told PopTopic. “They are very hopeful that Johnny will forgive them and return as his iconic character.”

But before Captain Jack Sparrow fans get too excited, a representative for Johnny Depp finally told NBC News the truth – that this rumour was unfortunately just “made up” as per E News.

In fact, during the trial, Depp revealed that he has no interest in returning as Captain Jack Sparrow. At one stage, Heard’s attorney Ben Rottenborn asked the Depp, “The fact is, Mr. Depp, if Disney came to you with $300 million and a million alpacas, nothing on this earth would get you to go back and work with Disney on a Pirates of the Caribbean film? Correct?”

To which Depp replied, “That is true, Mr. Rottenborn.”

One thing is for sure at this stage, Depp is set to join his Hollywood Vampires bandmates which include rock legends such as Alice Cooper, Joe Perry, and Tommy Henriksen — for an overseas tour next year.
