Chris Rock Finally Breaks His Silence After Being Slapped By Will Smith At The Oscars

Comedian and actor Chris Rock has decided to finally address being slapped by actor Will Smith during the 2022 Academy Awards around five months ago after he made a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.

During a recent stand-up show, while he was next to Kevin Hart at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey, Rock said, “Anyone who says ‘words hurt’ has never been punched in the face,” he reportedly said alongside comedians Kevin Hart and Dave Chappelle according to Sky News.

“I’m not a victim. Yeah, that s*** hurt mother f***er. But I shook that s*** off and went to work the next day. I don’t go to the hospital for a paper cut.”

Hart also brought a live goat with a gold chain on stage during the comedy act and introduced the goat as Will Smith.

For those who might not know, Rock was presenting an award for the best documentary film during the Academy Awards when he looked at Smith’s wife and said: “Jada, I love you. GI Jane 2, can’t wait to see you.”

Rock joked that Jada (who has alopecia) would be starring in a sequel to the movie GI Jane featuring Demi Moore, who shaved her head for the role.

A few minutes later, Smith jumped on stage and slapped Rock in the face before returning to his seat and yelling: “Keep my wife’s name out of your f**king mouth.”

Rock first addressed the issue during a sold-out performance at Boston’s Wilbur Theatre just five days after the debacle at the Academy Awards.

“What’s up, Boston? How was your weekend?” he said to the crowd as they greeted him with a standing ovation.

“I don’t have a bunch of s**t about what happened, so if you came to hear that, I have a whole show I wrote before this weekend. I’m still kind of processing what happened. So, at some point, I’ll talk about that s**t.

“It’ll be serious. It’ll be funny, but right now, I’m going to tell some jokes.”
