GMA Network Fans Show Overwhelming Support To GMA TV’s Star-Studded October-rific FunCon

The brightest stars of GMA Network’s upcoming programs this October gathered together in a fun and amusing “October-rific FunCon” by GMA Pinoy TV

Gracing the virtual meet-and-greet were the lead stars of the Kapuso limited “Stories from the Heart.” The top rating “Loving Miss Bridgette” featuring Kelvin Miranda and Beauty Gonzalez officially passed the baton to Jak Roberto and Lauren Young who headline “Never Say Goodbye.” To spice up the online event, the love teams also shared some trivia about their on-screen partners.

Tagged as the new “Frog Princess,” Beauty said that she feels bliss that their series concluded with high ratings. “I feel so happy and proud of me and Kelvin. We did a great start. I mean we didn’t expect this much na ganito ang reception nila sa amin. Nakakatawa kasi ang daming tumatawag sa akin na palaka. I’m so happy and so thankful na a lot of people love the show and I know na sila rin, sina Jak, Klea, and Lauren will do good also. It is a good start for the Stories from the Heart,” said Beauty.

Kelvin said he appreciated the overwhelming support of fans but also admitted that he felt pressured during the series. “Masayang-masaya naman ako na na-aappreciate at minahal siya ng mga tao. Lubos kaming nagpapasalamat. For sure naman na magiging maganda rin ang simula at dulo ng kina Jak, Klea and Lauren kasi magagaling ang writers at actors ng Stories from the Heart. Good luck to everyone,” said Kelvin.

Premiering October 18, “Never Say Goodbye” tells the story about the reunion of former lovers—a man who is in a marriage of convenience and a woman who is diagnosed with a terminal illness.

With “Loving Miss Bridgette” as a resounding success, Jak and Lauren are hoping that their series  “Never Say Goodbye” will also get high marks.

“Trailer pa lang, wala kang ibang mababasang comment kundi ‘nakakaiyak.‘ Masaya kami na ganoon ‘yung nagiging dating sa mga tao kasi ‘yun naman talaga ang gusto naming maramdaman. Maraming matutuhan sa show. It is about life, ‘yung mga decision natin sa buhay,” said Jak.

“I think siyempre every time na magsisimula ka ng bagong show, laging may pressure na to do well. I think I can speak for the rest of our cast when I say na talagang binigay namin lahat para sa show na ito. Ang ganda ng pagkasulat niya,” Lauren added.

Joining the second part of the October-rific Funcon are beauty queen and TV host-actress Patricia Tumulak and “Kuya ng Bayan” Kim Atienza of GMA Pinoy TV’s latest news magazine program “Dapat Alam Mo!”

In a quick game, they shared several must-know and tips on different situations such as motorcycle riding, cooking, taking care of pets, and staying fit and healthy. Patricia said that Kuya Kim is very approachable while their co-host and senior GMA news reporter Emil Sumangil is an epitome of professionalism.

Words cannot express how grateful I am for this show. Sana magustuhan ninyo.”

Kuya Kim invited Kapuso viewers abroad to watch the debut of his first show as a Kapuso host.

“This is unlike any other newscast that we’ve seen. Napaka-fast paced. Ito ang newscast na pagkatapos mong panoorin kung depressed ka, matutuwa ka. Magkakaroon ka ng good vibes. Ang mensahe ko sa mga Kapuso abroad, kami nina Patricia at Emil, ito ang paraan namin para mapagaan ang inyong pakiramdam. It’s our way of connecting with you.”

Emil who was in a reportorial duty during the FunCon greeted Kapuso viewers in a special video message. “Isa pong pagbati sa mga Kapuso natin mula sa iba’t ibang panig ng daigdig. Inaanyayahan namin ko kayo na tumunghay sa panibagong programa sa GMA Pinoy TV. Kakaibang estilo sa paghahatid ng impormasyon,” he said.

Bannering the newest Kapuso drama series “Las Hermanas” are Yasmien Kurdi, Thea Tolentino, Faith da Silva, Jason Abalos, and veteran actor Albert Martinez who revved up the October-rific FunCon.

Starting this October 25, Las Hermanas tells the story of the Manansala sisters as they try to help each other survive the trials of life. From a picture-perfect family, the sudden demise of their father will ripple unfortunate events and scandals that will ravage the family.

The stellar cast promised that the first week of Las Hermanas will be intense and full of drama.

“Sa unang linggo ng Las Hermanas, matutunghayan nila ang istorya at pinagmulan ng conflict ng Las Hermanas hanggang sa dulo,” teased Yasmien who will play Dorothy Manansala, the eldest sister who sets herself aside to guide her younger siblings.

Playing the role of Minnie, the middle child, Thea said that viewers will discover the uniqueness of their characters.

Faith added “’Yung first week ng Las Hermanas, napakabigat. Napakadaming mangyayari na dapat abangan ng mga manonood.” She will play the youngest sister named Scarlet, the most ambitious who doesn’t care how her siblings will feel as long as she reaches her dreams. Her character will have a romantic affair with Lorenzo, played by Albert Martinez.

Jason, who acts opposite to Yasmien, said that he learned a lot from Albert whom he considered as his senior and inspiration. “Kahit nasa malayo ako, pinapanood ko siya. Kasi sila ‘yung isa sa mga artista na gusto kong makuha ang career path kasi gusto kong tumagal sa showbiz. Sobrang professional.”

Still at his prime, Albert impressed the Kapuso audience with his dapper look and shared a piece of advice to young actors who want to flourish their showbiz careers. He said “You have to continue reinventing yourself based on the requirement and needs of that particular stage of the industry. Kasi kung magpaiwan ka, [you] will not get anymore projects. So it’s very important that you need to study what’s lacking in the industry.”

Catch the airing of this FunCon this November 7 on GMA Pinoy TV!
