Coronavirus Restrictions Have Been Extended In NSW For Another Month

Sadly twenty-nine people have died with COVID-19 in NSW, as 18,512 new infections were recorded and hospitalisations increased by 127 patients to 2943.

Coronavirus restrictions have therefore been extended in New South Wales for another month, as the NSW case numbers and hospitalisations experienced an increase overnight.

9 News confirms that Premier Dominic Perrottet announced that the restrictions on hospitality venues and compulsory mask-wearing would be extended until late February as a way to protect students returning back to school.

Socialising is currently discouraged in NSW and employees are encouraged to keep working from home. There’s still the two square metre rule in hospitality venues, a ban on singing and dancing, and compulsory mask indoors.

Mr. Perrottet said these restrictions will hopefully help elective surgery return by mid-February.

Health Minister Brad Hazzard emphasised the importance of getting a booster vaccine to help contain the virus “going forward”.

“If we have older family and relatives, friends that are vulnerable, we as individuals have an obligation to go and get boosted.

“That’s the Aussie way. Look after your mates.”
