NSW Records 30,825 New Covid Cases, And 25 Lives Lost

NSW has just recorded 30,825 new Covid cases and 25 people have sadly died from the virus on Thursday.

The daily case number is slightly lower than yesterday’s 32,297 Covid cases, with hospitalizations also down by 82 patients to 2781.

Health officials have confirmed that there were 17,647 Covid infections found through PCR tests, and 13178 new infections were detected from rapid testing in the last 24 hours to 8 pm.

9 News confirms that Premier Dominic Perrottet has repeatedly mentioned that schools will still re-open “day one, term one” despite the continuous spread of COVID-19. But the actual details of how that will happen will be presented to National Cabinet today and then revealed to the public after the meeting.

Chief Health Officer Kerry Chant also warned the public of a potential surge of COVID-19 cases as we approach winter season.

“The future is difficult to predict, but I think those scenarios of an upswing in cases prior to winter is something we have to plan for and talk to the community about,” she said.

“We are going to have to adjust our settings, adjust our behaviour.”
