In a Vanity Fair cover interview where Grimes formally revealed the news about giving birth to her and Elon’s daughter, named Y, she also talked about some of the criticisms hurled towards Elon Musk.
Even though Elon is one of the world’s richest men with a massive net worth of around $220 billion, Grimes said, in reality, he apparently doesn’t live like a billionaire and in fact, he lives like a poor person at times because he is quite focused on investing in his mega-expensive plans to colonize Mars.
“People are like, ‘He’s hoarding money!’ No, he’s spending everything on [research and development],” Grimes revealed, noting that Elon is totally committed to his Mars project “for the benefit of humanity.”
“Bro might say a lot of stupid sh*t, but he does the right thing,” she added.
“Bro does not live like a billionaire. … Bro lives at times below the poverty line,” she said. “To the point where I was like, ‘Can we not live in a very insecure $40,000 house? Where the neighbors, like, film us, and there’s no security, and I’m eating peanut butter for eight days in a row?’
