Following a highly successful on-sale earlier this month, strong audience demand for the Sydney season of A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical has led to the release of additional performances, with tickets now available for shows through to Sunday 10 January 2027. New tickets will go on sale from Wednesday 1 July.
The internationally acclaimed production will play a strictly limited season at the Sydney Lyric Theatre from Saturday 14 November 2026, with audiences encouraged to secure tickets early via www.theneildiamondmusical.com.au.
Ahead of rehearsals beginning in Australia in early July, excitement continues to build around the Broadway hit, which tells the uplifting true story of Neil Diamond’s journey from Brooklyn newcomer to global music icon. Created in collaboration with Neil Diamond himself, the production traces his rise to fame through the songs that defined generations.
With more than 140 million albums sold worldwide and a catalogue of timeless hits including Cracklin’ Rosie, Forever in Blue Jeans and Sweet Caroline, Diamond’s legacy spans decades of chart success, sold-out international tours and accolades including induction into both the Songwriters and Rock and Roll Halls of Fame, as well as a Grammy® Lifetime Achievement Award.
Like Jersey Boys and Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, A Beautiful Noise blends storytelling and music to deliver an intimate and electrifying theatrical experience, charting the personal and professional moments behind one of popular music’s most enduring careers.
Neil Diamond’s connection with Australia also runs deep, having toured the country seven times with promoter Paul Dainty AO. From the landmark Thank You Australia tour in 1976 through to his final tour in 2015, his music has remained a fixture in Australian culture. His 1972 live album Hot August Night remains one of the most iconic live recordings in the nation’s history, spending 29 weeks at number one and 65 weeks on the charts.
Reflecting on the production, Neil Diamond said he was proud to see his story continue reaching audiences around the world.
“Some of my most thrilling nights have been while sharing my music with audiences around the world,” Diamond said. “A Beautiful Noise has already had an incredible journey on Broadway and is currently touring across the U.S., and it’s an incredible honour to see it heading to Melbourne and Sydney. I hope Australian audiences enjoy the show as much as I have.”
The Australian production is led by Broadway star Will Swenson, who reprises his acclaimed role as Neil Diamond (Then), marking his Australian debut in the production. He is joined by an all-star Australian cast, including Terence Crawford as Neil Diamond (Now), Ashleigh Rubenach as Marcia Murphey, Monica Sayers as Doctor, Alana Tranter as Jaye Posner, Tim Wright as Fred Weintraub / Tommy O’Rourke, Paul Hanlon as Bert Berns / Kieve Diamond, Hannah Fredericksen as Ellie Greenwich / Rose Diamond, alongside Rob Mallett and Mark Owen Taylor in standby and alternate roles.
The ensemble, known as “The Beautiful Noise,” features a large company of Australian performers bringing Diamond’s world to life on stage, supported by a creative team of internationally acclaimed theatre makers.
The production is directed by Tony Award® winner Michael Mayer, with choreography by Olivier Award winner Steven Hoggett and a book by Academy Award nominee Anthony McCarten. The design team includes some of Broadway’s most celebrated creatives, including set designer David Rockwell, costume designer Emilio Sosa, lighting designer Kevin Adams and sound designer Jessica Paz.
With its combination of iconic music, personal storytelling and large-scale theatrical production, A Beautiful Noise promises to be one of the most anticipated musical events of the 2026 Sydney theatre season.
