It’s Official: Cameron Diaz Is Returning To Acting To Star In A Netflix Movie

It’s been a long time since we’ve seen Cameron Diaz hit our screens, but it looks like the Hollywood star is actually coming out of retirement and returning to acting for the upcoming Netflix film “Back in Action.”

After retiring from acting in 2018, the actress is back and will be starring opposite Jamie Foxx in an upcoming action-comedy. The Netflix project will reunite Diaz and Foxx, who have already worked together on “Any Given Sunday” as well as 2014’s “Annie” remake, which was Diaz’s final film role before officially “retiring.” Foxx revealed the news via Twitter when he shared an audio clip of his phone conversation with Diaz herself.

Diaz also confirmed the news by posting about it on her Instagram Story, saying, “Jamie Foxx, only you could get me back in action!!! I can’t frickin wait it’s gonna be a blast!”

The plot details of the said movie are being kept a secret at the moment and Netflix has not set a release date either, however, production is expected to start later this year. Seth Gordon (“Horrible Bosses”) will be directing the movie as per Variety from a script he wrote with Brendan O’Brien (“Neighbors”). Foxx will be executive producing “Back in Action” alongside Datari Turner, O’Brien, and Mark McNair.
