Ahead of a trip to the salon, many of us will turn to Google for some much-needed hair inspo. Now, new research has revealed exactly which styles we’re looking for.
Cosmetic surgery education site Tajmeeli has analysed global Google searches to identify the most in-demand celebrity hairstyles over the past 12 months.
Taking the top spot is Billie Eilish, with searches for the pop superstar’s hair hitting an estimated 188,400 searches in the last year.
Known for her neon styles and most recent platinum locks, it seems many of us are inspired by Billie to get more daring in the hairdresser’s chair. In fact, there were around 60,000 searches for ‘Billie Eilish green hair’ over the previous 12 months.
Following closely behind in second place is Selena Gomez. The singer and actress’ trademark dark hair was looked up 175,200 times over the past year, with a total of 51,600 searches specifically for ‘Selena Gomez short hair’.
Ariana Grande took third place with 170,400 searches. Despite being best known for her signature high ponytail, there was an estimated 34,800 searches for ‘Ariana Grande hair down’ in the last 12 months.
With ladies dominating the top five, Justin Bieber was the male A-lister with the hairstyle men want to copy the most. 122,400 people searched for his hairstyles in the last 12 months.
Sportsmen Lebron James and David Beckham also feature; their hairstyles have attracted 90,000 and 81,600 searches respectively in the past 12 months.
The research also segmented the most popular hairstyle types for each celebrity. Interestingly, more than half of the most popular searches were for short hair, suggesting many of us are keen to sport a choppier style.
