Milestone Reached: NSW Hits Staggering New Vaccine Numbers!

It looks like NSW has just hit a milestone in the race to vaccinate the nation.

After being stuck on a lockdown for more than 100 days, restrictions have finally been lifted for Greater Sydney residents. And while there’s much to celebrate because restrictions have been lifted, there’s another reason to celebrate because NSW just hit a new vaccination milestone.

Right now, more than 90 percent of people aged over 16 in NSW have now had at least one dose of the vaccine while 73.5 percent have had two doses.

According to news.com.au, the rate of first doses in NSW is so high that only the United Arab Emirates has a higher percentage of residents with at least one jab.

After passing the 70 percent double-dose vaccination milestone early last week, Sydney’s local businesses such as cafes, gyms, restaurants, pools, and hairdressers reopened yesterday and people will finally be allowed to step out more than five kilometres from where they live.

Victoria is also doing quite well in the vaccination race with 86 percent of Victorians aged 16 and over having received their first jab.
