Covid-19 Watch: NSW Records 18,278 COVID-19 Cases And Two Deaths

The number of new Covid cases in NSW has slightly gone down from a record 22,577 last Saturday morning to 18,278 present time. Unfortunately, it looks like hospitalisations are now above the 1000 mark.

As it stands 83 patients in intensive care. There were 901 people with COVID-19 in hospital and 79 in intensive care on Saturday.

SMH confirms that Chief Health Officer Kerry Chant said on Sunday it was “important we don’t just don’t look at day-to-day case numbers, it’s important that we look at the trends in those case numbers.

“Some of the test results from today will reflect testing done over previous days, and when we analyse the data by test date, that will give us a better understanding of the trajectory.”

SMH further confirms that The two people who died were a man in his 80s from Sydney’s Southwest, and a man in his 90s from Western Sydney. Both were apparently fully vaccinated.

Public health officials state that we need to brace ourselves because a big chunk of cases is most likely going to be undetected.
