Georgia Lines debuts at #1 in the OFFICIAL TOP 20 – NZ ALBUMS CHART

It’s been a massive weekend for Georgia Lines. Georgia debuted at #1 in the OFFICIAL TOP 20 – NZ ALBUMS CHART (Aug 6) & #3 OVERALL (Behind Beyonce & Harry Styles).

From deeply emotional ballads, with hauntingly beautiful string sections, to Prince-inspired pop, with infectiously catchy hooks, Georgia Lines’ stunning new EP encapsulates the wide range of experiences and emotions of everything it means to be ‘human.’

The five-track EP features an array of exceptional co-writers and producers, including: Nick Dow, Nic Manders, Joseph Farris, Djeisan Suskov, Alex James (Alae), Rory Noble and Sydney-based Xavier Dunn. HUMAN is an insight into the rich and expansive world of Georgia Lines, showcasing her profound honesty through this collection of sounds.

“The EP reflects my journey of vulnerability, of learning, I am human,” says Georgia. “It examines love and loss, the deep pain and joy we can sometimes hold in the same breath, and my journey as an artist to explore all of those feelings and attempt to package some of my findings and honest feelings into these songs.  Even though the overall vibe of HUMAN musically has many different facets, with elements inspired from both the 80’s and 90’s mixed with big vocals and stacked harmonies, it also has these moments of rawness and simplicity. Lyrically and sonically, there is an honesty to these songs.”

The EP’s lead single ‘Faith,’ written by Georgia Lines and Joseph Farris, draws its sonic inspiration from Prince; with its crunchy 80’s synths and layers of catchy lead guitars and vocal hooks.  Produced by co-writer Joseph Farris, the track explores a tension often felt in relationships, where stubbornness can often get in the way of necessary change.

“Any relationship requires sacrifice from both sides; a give and take, and a willingness to make changes in order for the relationship to thrive,” explains Georgia. “When you’re exhausted from waiting and desperate for that change to happen, you can often feel hopeless or like you’re running out of faith.”

Georgia Lines is quickly becoming a household name in Aotearoa’s music industry. GEORGIA LINES EP has amassed 3 million Spotify streams, has featured in Rolling Stone magazine and on MTVGeorgia’s single ‘No One Knows’ won Georgia the ‘Best Music Video’ award at 2021’s AMA’s (Aotearoa Music Awards).

HUMAN is a journey into the brilliant sounds and honesty of Georgia Lines. To witness her captivating live performance and powerful vocals, make sure you catch Georgia on tour.
